Food Operations Needs
At present NCF Young Motivators has limited storage for dry goods, very limited storage for frozen goods, and no way to store fresh produce. Lack of refrigerated or frozen storage creates two challenges:1) it restricts our ability to cost-effectively purchase bulk quantities, and2) also requires us to sometimes distribute more produce than a small household can easily use.
We have designated property for construction of an appropriate food storage building, and are actively seeking support for expanding our food storage and services. Further, a dedicated food storage facility will help us teach members of our community healthy cooking skills, economic meal planning, and offer meals to the neediest people in Lake City and Fort White. If we are able to compensate qualified staff and purchase necessary equipment, we will attract new talent in our food operations.

Youth Operations Needs
NCF Young Motivators would like to offer small stipends for youth working on assigned programs. When we are able to compensate Young Motivators, we will be able to teach financial literacy, from the basics of savings - to understand banking - to planning for large purchases.
An influx of funds dedicated for youth financial literacy will further increase pride and self-reliance, helping Young Motivators become stable members of our community.
General and Immediate Needs
We always need the basics to help those in need, including:
Infant supplies - diapers, baby wipes, baby formula, car seats, and strollers
Homeless supplies - used buckets, personal hygiene items, socks and gloves, sweatshirts, blankets, coats, and Bibles
Shelf stable Ready-to-eat-foods - for both homeless and Backpack Program
Garden equipment
Funds for truck expenses and maintenance and to purchase food for weekly distribution
Volunteering
Adult volunteers are always welcome in NCF Young Motivators Food Operations. At this time, Food volunteers must be able to lift, move, and carry up to 25 pound packages. Please come see us in person at our weekly food pantry distributions, located at the Fort White Community Center on US 47, Tuesdays between 11am and noon. NCF Young Motivators is an accredited Community Service provider - court-ordered community service work may be done at our drive-thru food pantry only.
Volunteers for NCF Young Motivators programs, working directly with youth, must pass a stringent background check and provide letters of recommendation. Please contact us using our web site contact form or text the number at the bottom of this page for more information.
